Speedy gonzales!

This weekend we ran as a family in the Mayor's Fun Run. The boys were thrilled to have their very first t shirt, goody bag, and bib for an event!(they've been to what seems like a million of Chad and I's events so they knew exactly what all that stuff was) JD and Kade immediately began talking trash about who would be the fastest. I got to do a little running with JD at the Turkey Trot last November (while Kade slept in the stroller) so we split up letting Chad run with JD. JD is very much into running and this wasn't his first full mile run.

Chad let JD know that people were cheering for his bib number which meant he tucked his head in and picked up the speed. Our little speedy gonzales clocked a 12 minute mile! (which may or may not be the speed his momma prefers to run at...)

I was encouraging Kade as he ran telling him he was faster than a superhero. He informed me that he was even faster than Bolt. He ran the entire first lap, practicing using his arms for speed. As we passed the start line to start the second lap I asked if he wanted to keep going and he said he'd rather get some food. Totally MY kid!!!

Needless to say the boys slept pretty hard during nap!

Tomorrow we add their bibs to ours on the garage wall along with the rest of em!!!
