It's all fun and games....

You know, life can really be a fight. My prayer in all of my blogs is you see the beauty in the battle. I want to reflect honestly while reporting Clint Eastwood style (ya know:the good, the bad, the ugly).

As a parent, or a non parent for that matter. Restart. As a person functioning in the world with other persons, there are plenty of days you want to whack someone on the head. (oh come on- thats not just me!). Because people are annoying. People are wounded. People aren't made whole yet. I find it ironic how even sometimes I can annoy myself for said and non said reasons.

I'm getting to a point. Promise.

I'm juggling the adventure JC decided to call "the Hoes' April" and its fun. I LOVE multitasking and actually really struggle with the mundane. That makes "April" more like my "dream come true". I am trying to enjoy it all- the ouchie feet last week in New York, the delight of chunking stuff while packing, the anticipation for whats next. Overall, Id say I am succeeding. But the people-specifically the littler people- in my house are driving me bonkers. Always with the bickering and talking!

But then...

One of the littlers waits at the door just to say "bye mom" with a giant smile. Like a truck, that "bye mom" smacks into the depths of my heart. Once upon a time, I didn't know if I'd hear that. Once upon a time all I had to annoy me was Chad. No legos to step on, no early morning cold toed snuggles in a silent house, no "stop it!", no giggles over passing gas, no family walks... Just complete selfish silence.

My heart literally exploded in that moment with 9.5 ba-jillion ways Jesus just keeps making "dream come true" a reality. How insane is it that the God that made this place and feeds the animals, and made the color yellow wants to DOUSE me with simple and elaborate gifts!?! Its bizarre that HE can make a simple "bye mom" boom sweet tender reflection within and draw me back to His kindness. But it isn't bizarre. It isn't insane. Because He declared it as truth so many years ago.

Psalm 16:5-11

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;you make my lot secure.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;surely I have a delightful inheritance.

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;even at night my heart instructs me.

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;my body also will rest secure,

because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay.

You make known to me the path of life;you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
