Lately Kade has been asking a lot about what is real-tooth fairy, fairies in general, santa, the easter bunny. Honesty is very high on our list of quality must haves in the Hoes home and so, although some of you disagree, we are upfront about these issues. They know that it is fun to pretend and use our imaginations.
Imagination is exactly what Kade is into. He likes to extend the truth with a smirk on his face that shows off the dimples, and a spark in his eye. He likes to think he tricks us and ends with a "got ya that time!" Kade is getting the difference in an outlandish silly story and a lie- that is a fun thing to know as a kid and Chad and I appreciate that he sees the difference.
Today at lunch, Kade begins telling us that JD is under the couch hanging out. He extends his story through giggles. The funny part was hearing Chad recap it:
"So you are telling me that you sneaked out of the house without mommy knowing, walked to my work, borrowed my truck, drove to JD's school, picked him up, drove JD home and shoved him under the couch, drove the truck back to my work, and walked home all without mommy knowing you left????"
His reply: "I didn't tell mom I was leaving"(giggle, giggle)"Got ya that time!"
cute!
