Freedom, forgiveness, and all things Jesus

It didn't take me too long to find
The chains You just had freed me from
I got so used to having them on
I didn't know how to live in freedom

Sara Groves gets it. It is so stinking hard to live in freedom! By the beauty of Jesus, the chains are gone yet we keep picking them up and lugging them around. Gosh, they get heavy!

To dumb down freedom, its as simple as a choice, but choices can be hard! JD demonstrates this at the soda fountain when eating out, he can't decide what flavor, so he goes for them all. Spiritual logic wants freedom and to rid ourselves from the burden of guilt, shame, bitterness. In our worldly logic however, we want equality, judgement, revenge! The choice is simply which logic will we follow?

The song continues with my hearts desire...

This can't be, no it can't be
What You have intended for me
This can't be, no it can’t be
What You have intended for me

Glory come down
Sent from Your holy place
Come cleanse us now
Sovereign and Holy Come make us holy now

What is it in the nature of man
That draws us away from our purpose
To despise the things of God
And love the things that hurt us

This can't be, no it can't be
What You have intended for us
This can't be, no it can not be
What You have intended for us

Straight from your holy place
Lord make us holy
As You are holy
Lord send it down
Just a little bit of heaven here on earth
Lord send Your glory

Lord we need You,
Lord I love You,
Thank You Jesus.
